Solar Ovens Have you made or bought a solar oven that works well in Park City? What are your best tips for making one? Do they work well in the winter, assuming you have a good sunny place and an turn it to follow the sun? Thanks.

RE:Solar Ovens This summer I bought a Sun Oven at The Green Building Center. On a sunny day with temps of 75 to 80 the sun oven will reach 375 degrees and hold thhat temp. Clouds can be a problem, as they can make the temp fluctuate -- however, with intermittent clouds, it is easy to cook something that is not too sensitive like lasagna.

You do have to turn it to follow the sun -- and you can adjust the height to account for seasonal changes in the sun angle.

There are lots of sites on the web where you can find instructions for building your own!
