Park City utility bills
We are building a home that will be 100% solar powered in Silver Creek. We are creating a website that will show the estimated time to payback for the additional cost involved over typical construction. We need information on what people who actually live year round are paying for gas and electircity each month. We are in the process of creating a website that will have a graph showingthe time to estimated payback. What we need are real life bills with all their usual added fees to more accurately make the claculations. We already have done the REZ check for our building permit which spells out what Summit county requires for BTU's of heat, but that is not the same as what you'll be spending each month. Thanks much!

RE:Park City utility bills
It might be helpful if people are also willing to share information about
>the year their home was built >the square footage of the home
And you may want to compare the performance of your old home to your new home. We bought a home constructed in 2001 that was 2000 square feet, traditional constuction, located near Home Depot. In 2005 we built a 3000 sq ft passive solar home with many sustainable features and reduced >BTUs by 60%, >electricity consumption by 20%, >indoor water use by 50%, and >outdoor water use by 100% (no landscaping).
And the new home was 1,000 square feet larger, has significantly more glazing and is located 2,000 feet higher than the last home.
Also - here's a great resource for estimating payback period on photovoltaics: http://www.sierraclubgreenhome.com/solar-center/
