Hybrid vehicles, sometimes called a Hybrid Electric Vehicle use both a gasoline engine as well as an electric motor to achieve a higher fuel efficiency, which is anywhere from 40 to 70 miles per gallon of gasoline. A hybrid vehicle relies on a number of advanced techonologies like regenerative braking, electric motor drive & assistance as well as automatic start and shutoff.

A Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) is similar to a normal hybrid, but has a larger system of batteries, usually has a greater fuel efficiency than a standard hybrid and has a plug attachment, from which the batteries can be charged directly from the grid as well as through regeneration.

Hybrid vehicles are gaining in popularity and are proving to save money in gas expenditures and significantly reducing carbon emissions.
